Cookie policy

Last updated 30 October 2026

Crafyu uses as little browser storage as it can. There are no advertising, analytics or tracking cookies, and nothing is shared with ad networks. Everything below is needed for the site to work, so there is no cookie banner to accept or decline.

1. Cookies Crafyu sets

crafyu_session
Keeps you signed in. HTTP-only (scripts can't read it), sent only over HTTPS and only to Crafyu.
Lasts: 7 days, or until you sign out
crafyu_oauth
Protects Google sign-in against forged requests while you're on Google's consent screen.
Lasts: 10 minutes, deleted after sign-in

Both are strictly necessary: without them you can't sign in. They are first-party (set by crafyu.com) and contain no personal information beyond a signed session reference.

2. Settings kept in your browser

These preferences are saved in your browser's local storage, not in cookies. They never leave your device and aren't used to identify you:

crafyu.theme
Remembers light, dark or system theme.
crafyu.accent
Remembers your accent colour, so the page doesn't flash teal before your settings load.
crafyu.sidebar.collapsed
Remembers whether the sidebar is collapsed.
crafyu.reader.contents, crafyu.reader.tutor
Remembers whether the lesson contents and tutor panels are open.

Clear them any time by clearing this site's data in your browser; Crafyu then uses its defaults.

3. Other services you may visit through Crafyu

  • Google, when you sign in: the consent screen is on google.com and follows Google's cookie policy.
  • Razorpay, when you upgrade: the payment window is served by Razorpay and may set its own cookies for security and fraud prevention, under Razorpay's policies.
  • Wikimedia Commons, which serves some lesson images directly to your browser.

Crafyu's fonts and scripts are served from crafyu.com itself, so reading a lesson doesn't contact font or analytics services.

4. Changes and questions

If we ever add a cookie that isn't strictly necessary (for example analytics), we'll update this page and ask for your consent first. Questions: hello@crafyu.com. See also the Privacy policy.
